Community Outreach

Community service is very important to Sensei Hines.  Clarke County Yoshukai's very existence is a form of community service and outreach, and while students who train here may not think of it this way, they are also performing a valuable community service just by training with CCY.  While performing community service isn't required for students to promote, teaching and working with other students is required.  All of our higher ranking students willingly work with our lower ranking students for no financial gain of their own and at the sacrifice of their own personal training time.

That said, Sensei Hines always encourages students to participate in additional community service as she feels that it can make a huge difference both in the students lives as well as the lives of others.  Here's an article on just a few of the benefits of community service!  To that end, CCY students have already participated in one community service trip to Athens-Clarke County Animal Control to help socialize the dogs there.  But there are so many more options to serve in Clarke County.  Here are some resources to help you get started:

We also hope to be participating in some upcoming races - like the Color Run in Atlanta - which are held to support local and national charities.

Please contact Sensei Hines if you have any ideas for community service opportunities for CCY or if you want to get more involved in your community!
